This is definitely the best mechanic I have ever been to. Here's my story. Last Friday we drove up to Tahoe to my ski lease from San Francisco. On the way up my car was shaking and the check engine light went on. We heard about this place through a friend and pulled in at 5:00 pm (They close at 5:30). They are really busy and still taking care of many of their customers but kindly take a look at my car. They think its one of two problems and end up taking my car to the back and working on it. THEY FIXED MY CAR IN ONE HOUR. They got the part that it needed and fixed it, on a Friday evening. I was out of there at 6:10 pm. I am not sure what I would have done if I couldn't get my car fixed as we have a long drive home today, Sunday. THANK YOU VERY MUCH to the awesome team here. You guys really made my weekend and although I don't hope my car breaks down again on the way to Truckee, I will be back for sure.

Had a great experience today. Someone stole my knob things off my tires and I was stuck with 4 extremely low tires and 300 miles to drive. I pulled up to the tire shop after finding them through my Siri and was greeted with the most excellent service I've ever received at a tire shop. A guy by the name Allen helped me out and he was courteous, fixed my issue promptly and asked for nothing in return. This is the kind of stuff that keeps me coming back again and again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. If you have anything tire related don't hesitate to give this place a shot. P.S - Allen deserves a raise!

I had a positive experience with Bob at the Auto & Tire Doctor. Despite the facts that it was a busy holiday weekend for them and that I'm from out of town and probably won't be a repeat customer, they still provided very good customer service.

These guys were able to order and install my snow tires within a few days of calling - they were already booked, but squeezed me in on a busy day anyway (since I am from the Bay area and would have had to drive back on bald tires otherwise) - thanks guys!

This place is amazing. An independent, family owned feel. I met John when I first moved to Truckee and he is just the nicest, genuine man ever and has helped me with any car issue I've ever needed. From finding a car, to helping maintain my car, to getting my car towed in the middle of the night to the shop. Allen who works with him is also extremely good-natured and a true pleasure to be around. Car maintenance is always stressful and expensive, but with these guys handling any situation, it's totally cool. Second to my father, best mechanics around.

Unbelievably helpful! Just bought a new car, two days off the lot and in Tahoe to ski when the engine light went on. These guys were able to take care of it in a couple of minutes and didn't charge a thing. Even refused a tip.

I very rarely ever take my vehicles to somebody I don't know on a personal level. My truck is very dear to me, and I can fix most things on it myself, but decided to let someone deal with the hassle. I'm glad I trusted my truck to these guys. They promised the truck back in a few hours to replace a center U-joint, and they kept their promise with the problem fixed. They waived the diagnostic fee for figuring out the problem. They left some candy in the truck, too. Awesome.

Up in Tahoe for the weekend and we got a nail in one of our tires on a Saturday afternoon. Brought it in here and they were able to patch it up and send us on our way in about 20 minutes. When I asked the owner/tech?? how much he said it was no charge and that he couldn't charge me for something so simple. Great place and great employees. I highly recommend them.

The service at The Auto Doctor was outstanding! I suffered a roadside tow in the area and AAA brought me here as I was an out of towner and did not have a local mechanic. Though it was closing time, they stuck around to receive the car and get my paperwork in. They kept in touch and had my car fixed and ready to go in 24hrs. I would refer these guys emphatically to anyone in the area.
