Truckee Auto Repair

We are from Oregon and were on a short trip. We came in due to a low pressure light coming on...and their competitor around the corner wouldn't even wait on us. Best thing to happen . . Can't say thank you enough to the staff for finding the glass in the tire and helping us out!!!! Amazing service and care. Thank you so much!

Predatory to tourists. Locals already know to stay away. High, high, prices, poor service, charge for work not done properly and then claim ignorance. If you are stuck or stranded, AAA tows you here, but save yourself money and grief, have your car taken someplace else.

The Auto & Tire Doctor are fantastic! I needed four oil changes for some large vans on a whim and these were the only folks that could fit me in on the same day. (I called three places in Truckee before finding them!) They were extremely accommodating to my schedule and have Wifi on site if you have to wait for your vehicle. The cute chocolate lab doesn't hurt, either. This will definitely be my go to shop whenever I'm in town!

I bought 4 new tires from them for over a $1,000. They recommended Michelin tires. When I had a problem within two weeks of buying them and I returned they tell me they are not Michelin dealers. I had to buy another tire to replace what I believe was a defective tire. I live in Truckee now for a while and wanted to support a local business. Problems happen, but their attitude was the biggest problem. Bad attitude, not helpful. Jason, the guy I dealt with should not be dealing with customers. They left the bad tire in my car which i didn't ask for and now it's my problem. I could go on with details about my experience but the basic idea is when they were selling they were great, when you have a problem then they stink.

Possibly the worst shop in truckee. Not only do they overcharge, but they are also incompetent. I had a bad experience here almost a decade ago and vowed never to go back, however I recently relocated less than a block away from their location and I was in a pinch. Bad idea. Never going back again. If you're having car problems, I recommend taking your vehicle to Ward & Sons. And if you need tires... just go to Reno. Stones is almost as bad as these guys.

These guys are awesome. John and team did a great job replacing the CV joints/axels on my 2004 Volkswagen Passat. My fiancé and I dropped the car off while they were closed on Sunday, and on Monday John picked us up from our hotel (with his cute dog Winston) and took us to the shop. He showed us what was wrong then leant us his Subaru station wagon for the day so we could still go skiing. The shop completed the work quickly and $40 less than quoted. Great work, guys!

My daughter and I just had the absolute best experience here! Just when we thought our ski day might be ruined, these guys saved the day! They were knowledgable, kind and so very welcoming! They got us fixed up and back on our way to the slopes! I simply cannot say enough! A special thanks to John for going out of his way to help us!!!!! Hands down. Best. Folks. Ever.

We were introduced to their shop after we found ourselves stranded on the wrong side of the road on the Day Before Thanksgiving! Our large truck slid across Hwy 267 and ended up with a flat tire. We had to be towed in, thank you AAA, and our truck has a special order tire size. Of course, due to the date, we had to get down the hill to meet holiday obligations. This wonderful shop was able to scramble and meet our need, and we were back on the road within a couple of hours. As I sit here in my living room, I still can't believe we were stuck in the snow with a disabled vehicle this morning, and now we are home with the truck in the driveway! Did I mention it all happened on the day before Thanksgiving! a day most shops take the day off. They have a great waiting area with a device charging station, free arcade style video games, fresh popcorn and cable TV. Thank you Auto & Tire Doctor for the wonderful treatment.

We got a flat tire when we drove up to our house in Truckee. My husband bought some fix a flat and we drove to the nearest tire repair place which was at the 76 station on Pioneer Trail. They informed us that they were unable to helps us and referred us to Stones Country Tire and Auto Repair. We had to get on the freeway and drive the 5 miles there on a very wobbly tire. We get there and they not-so-nicely tell us that they are full and can't help us. WTH?? We had seen The Auto & Tire Doctor as we were driving to Stone's. We drive over there and they were so nice! They took us in right away and immediately found a screw stuck in our tire. They removed it, sealed our tire, re-inflated it and said, "You're good to go!" No charge! We will be customers for life and will recommend them to anyone who needs auto or tire repairs!
